Hey all, Just wanted to let you know about a new community gothcitymaps which aims to get people all over the world to create Google maps of their cities to serve as a valuable resource to any dark alternative types who visit those cities. Currently we're looking for as many submitters as we can get (obviously one for every city on Earth :P). We are also going to be hopefully needing community moderators (perhaps one for each contributing country?), first preference will be given to map contributers. Thanks and happy map building!

The time has come for young Marrus to break down, join the human race & acquire one. In anticipation of this, she burned her ginormous collection of music, all 2200 songs (please don't laugh), to itunes, to the, um, tune of almost 60 gigs. Now, when researching ipods, she learns that an 80 gig should hold about 20,000 songs. The math does not compute. Why? Cuz at 2200 songs, that’s only about a tenth of what an 80 gig should hold. itunes, or ipod, is lying to me. And I thought they were the same thing! Help? In local news, Jay has moved the car to higher ground.

...only without a film crew and two dozen people behind the scenes! Here's what you guys have helped build over the last two years. Thank you for supporting my work, housing me on the road, and talking me down off of rooftops! We're not done yet (when is anyone EVER done with a house?), but man, it doesn't look like the same place it did just under two years ago! Outside before: Outside last week: And I'm learning about plants & flowers & growing fruits & veggies. Did you know that after the flowers fall off or dry up, fruit grows from the very same spot??? I didn't! And suddenly, there are baby tomatos & figs growing!! How cool is THAT? And, the movie/life/art/creative monster confluence happened again. I don't want to say too much yet, but I'll tease with this: Barney the Dinosaur, unicorns, my paintings, and an AMAZING project set in New Orleans:) My life is the weirdest, coolest thing ever, when it's not trying to toss me over a cliff!

During the most recent bout of storming, in which the front yard flooded yet again, a confused toad washed up from what I suspect was his home further down the street. A strange swamp-land has grown up around the abandoned ASPCA building, replete with marsh plants and wildlife slowly reclaiming that end of the macadam.
He was fatly planted in the driveway, a bad place for toads, so I scooped him up, marveled at his toadiness for a moment, and placed him among the plants in the garden.
That was about five days ago.
Yesterday, there was a bump on my finger where there was no bump before. I worried at it with my fingernails, probed it experimentally, finally chewed it off, to astonishing pain.
It's growing back.
It's a wart.
I don't GET warts.
It COULDN'T have been the toad, right? RIGHT???

Freakonomics! No, it's not a summer reading assignment, it's our humble suggestion for what you, yes you, can do with your Economic Stimulus Tax Rebate. Fiddle while Rome burns! Drink while Wall Street crashes! Or, you know, see a whole bunch of your friends for a few days of fun. That just doesn't sound nearly as fraught with dramatic, epic consequences. Except for that one person you hooked up with, totally by accident, after the Absinthe Incident, like five years ago, who keeps emailing you every once in a while. *awkward silence descends* ( Hey, look, a flamingo! )
